In my introduction to Flash, I was given an assignment of creating a movie trailer using Flash and its animation features. I chose one of the most controversial yet classic films from Stanley Kubrick that made Malcolm McDowell a star. The project incorporated some hand-drawn animation and illustration work along with movie stills, motion graphics and the music of Wendy Carlos.
With a love for the bygone era of jukeboxes, I thought it would be an interesting assignment to make not just a simple mp3 player, but one that played off the style of old Seeburg consolettes. These jukeboxes were popular in diners all across North America and can still be found in many of them. This project introduced me to the many interactive features of Actionscript 3 in combination with animation and sound control. To hear the music simply look through the guide by skimming the cards by pressing the red or green buttons and then click on the appropriate corresponding button below to hear a song.
